These are such challenging times for us all. As a white man, I must admit that I struggle with what my role should be and how I can best support those who are struggling. I want to validate the pain, anger and fear that my black colleagues, neighbors and fellow humans are experiencing. But it is important to do more than just validate. As an individual, I am working hard to identify real and concrete actions I can take to bring about meaningful change. As a professional, I will continue to strive to provide a safe and compassionate place for those I work with. And I will strive to be TRULY trauma-informed in my practices by acknowledging reality and being willing to listen and learn and educate myself when I don't have the answer or cannot personally relate to my client's experiences. Please take care of yourself and your loved ones.
